Data Deletion Requests

This page explains how to request deletion of your Sidewalk Saga account or specific categories of data associated with your account. Sidewalk Saga is provided by Kanatago. For broader privacy information, see our Privacy Policy.

1. Delete your entire account

You can delete your Sidewalk Saga account directly inside the app:

  1. Open Sidewalk Saga and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Scroll down and tap Delete Account.
  4. Confirm the action in the dialog. Your account and associated data will be removed as described below.

If you no longer have access to the app, you can also request account deletion by email. Send a message from the email address associated with your account to [email protected] with the subject line “Delete Sidewalk Saga Account.”

2. Delete specific data without closing your account

If you want to remove specific information but keep your account active, email [email protected] from the email address linked to your account, with the subject line “Delete My Data — Sidewalk Saga.” In the message, please tell us which categories you would like removed. Examples include:

  • Profile or avatar photo
  • Quest history and progress
  • Saved story settings and preferences
  • Step count and walking activity records
  • Push notification token

We may need to verify your identity (for example, by replying from the account email) before acting on a request.

3. What gets deleted

When you delete your account, we remove:

  • Your profile information (display name, username, avatar, preferences).
  • Your quest history, story settings, and gameplay progress.
  • Your step count and walking activity records.
  • Your push notification token and notification preferences.
  • Any profile or avatar images you uploaded.

Photos you submitted for quest challenges or story setup are already removed from storage shortly after they are processed, as described in Section 3 of our Privacy Policy.

4. What may be kept, and for how long

We may retain limited information after deletion where we have a legal, security, or accounting reason to do so. This typically includes:

  • Purchase and subscription records required for tax, refund, and financial recordkeeping purposes (retained for as long as required by applicable law, typically up to 7 years).
  • Security, fraud-prevention, and abuse-prevention logs (retained for a limited period in line with our security practices).
  • Records necessary to resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, or comply with legal obligations.

Subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play are managed by those platforms. Deleting your Sidewalk Saga account does not automatically cancel an active subscription — you must cancel it through your App Store or Google Play account.

5. How long it takes

Account deletions initiated from inside the app take effect immediately for your account record and typically complete within 30 days across backups and service providers. Email-based requests are generally processed within 30 days of our receiving a verifiable request.
