1. Nature of the activity

Sidewalk Saga generates walking quests that guide you through real-world streets, sidewalks, parks, and public areas. Quests involve physically walking to suggested destinations while interacting with narrative content, photo challenges, observation puzzles, and voice moments on your device. The app is designed for pedestrian use in safe, publicly accessible environments.

2. Assumption of risk

By using Sidewalk Saga, you acknowledge and accept that walking in real-world environments involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:

• Traffic, vehicles, bicycles, and other road users
• Uneven surfaces, steps, curbs, and obstacles
• Weather conditions (rain, ice, heat, reduced visibility)
• Unfamiliar areas that may present unexpected hazards or security concerns
• Physical exertion that may not be suitable for all fitness levels or health conditions
• Distraction from your surroundings while viewing or interacting with app content

You voluntarily assume all risks associated with your use of the app in real-world environments, including risks that are not specifically listed above.

3. Your responsibilities

While using Sidewalk Saga, you agree to:

• Stay alert at all times. Always be aware of your surroundings, including traffic, other pedestrians, and environmental hazards.
• Stop before interacting with the app. Never look at, read, type on, or interact with the app while walking, crossing streets, or near traffic. Move to a safe, stationary position before using the app.
• Obey all laws and regulations. Follow traffic signals, pedestrian rules, property boundaries, and all applicable local laws.
• Avoid unsafe areas. Do not enter private property, restricted areas, construction zones, bodies of water, or any location that appears unsafe or that you are not authorized to access — even if the app suggests a destination in that direction.
• Use your own judgment. The app may suggest routes or destinations that are not suitable for your physical condition, the current conditions (weather, time of day, local events), or your comfort level. Always trust your own assessment over app suggestions.
• Do not use the app while operating a vehicle. This includes cars, bicycles, scooters, and any other vehicle or mode of transport.
• Be considerate of others. Do not block walkways, create disturbances, or behave in ways that inconvenience or endanger other people.

4. Health and physical fitness

Walking quests involve physical activity. If you have any medical condition, disability, or health concern that could be affected by walking or outdoor activity, consult your healthcare provider before using the app. Sidewalk Saga is not a medical device and does not provide health, fitness, or medical advice.

5. App-generated content and route suggestions

Quest routes, destination suggestions, and narrative content are generated by automated systems and AI. They may contain inaccuracies, may reference locations that have changed or are temporarily inaccessible, and may not account for real-time hazards, closures, or conditions. App content should never be relied upon as navigation, safety, emergency, or factual guidance.

6. Minors

If you are under 18, you should only use Sidewalk Saga with the knowledge and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring that minors understand and follow the safety guidelines in this disclaimer.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Kanatago, its officers, employees, affiliates, licensors, and service providers shall not be liable for any injury, death, loss, damage, claim, or expense of any kind (including direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages) arising from or related to:

• Your use of the app in real-world environments
• Any route, destination, or activity suggested by the app
• Your interactions with the physical environment, other people, animals, traffic, or property while using the app
• Any failure to follow the safety guidelines described in this disclaimer

Mandatory consumer protections under Norwegian law and the laws of your place of residence remain unaffected where they legally apply. Nothing in this disclaimer is intended to exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded.

8. In-app acknowledgment

Before starting your first quest, you are asked to read and acknowledge this Activity Safety Disclaimer within the app. By checking the acknowledgment box and tapping "Accept," you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the terms of this disclaimer.

On subsequent quest starts, you will see a brief safety reminder encouraging you to stay alert and stop walking before interacting with the app.

9. Changes to this disclaimer

We may update this Activity Safety Disclaimer from time to time. If we make material changes, we may ask you to re-acknowledge the updated disclaimer before your next quest. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
